In the context of events organized within the PhD program in Architettura e ambiente at the Dipartimento di Architettura, Design e Urbanistica dell'Università di Sassari, Francesca Mattei, Associate Investigator at VeLoCi, delivered the lecture "Disegnare il tempo. La rappresentazione dell’architettura tra empirismo scientifico e immaginario antiquario". Through the analysis of treaties, written sources, and drawings, Francesca reconstructed the dual approach to heritage adopted by Renaissance architects, reflecting on the coexistence between the use of disciplinary tools (such as relief and drawing through orthogonal projections) and the imagery fueled by a passion for antiquarian studies. This theme fits into VeLoCi's second line of investigation, Antiquaria between Imagery and protoarchaeology.
