In her academic department, Francesca Mattei held the lecture “Una stanza tutta per sé. Lo studiolo di Isabella d'Este e gli spazi femminili del Rinascimento” (“A Room for Herself. Isabella d'Este's studiolo and the female spaces of the Renaissance”), examining the marquise of Mantua's knowledge of architectural culture and her passion for ruins. This research dialogues with the studies conducted as part of VeLoCi second line of investigation Antiquaria tra immaginario e protoarcheologia.
