New explorations and fresh synergies for VeLoCi in these busy days of the New Year

The VeLoCi team recently visited the Library of the Società Napoletana di Storia Patria, one of the oldest and most important Italian historical societies.

The library holds an extensive collection of rare books and documents related to the city of Naples, Campania, including the Vesuvian area. Our research will primarily focus on two collections: the manuscript, and particularly the iconographic archive. Dr. Domenico Pino will guide us through the hundreds of drawings in search of iconographic evidence of the lost Vesuvian cities before the 18th-century excavations. The VeLoCi team and the Società Napoletana di Storia Patria have also started working on a joint seminar to be held in the spring. Stay tuned!
