The note by Prof. Adriano Ghisetti Giavarina on the International Conference “Lost Cities in a Global Perspective. Sources, Experience, Imagery in the Early Modern Period (15th–18th Century)” is now available online. The conference was held on 16–17 October 2025 at the Conference Hall of the Rectorate of the University of Campania “Luigi Vanvitelli”.

Organised by Giulia Ceriani Sebregondi, Francesca Mattei, and Danila Jacazzi, the event brought together Italian and international scholars in four thematic sessions, for a total of twenty-four papers.

The contribution provides an overview of the two days of study, highlighting the common thread of the discussion: the theme of “lost cities” examined from a global perspective through textual sources, material evidence, visual culture, travel accounts, and processes of memory construction, situated between myth and imagination.

The document can be consulted in the Results section of the VeLoCi project website.
